Derek Levering of Landisville Awarded at SGIA Competition

Derek Levering, of Landisville, Pa., a senior at Millersville University of Pennsylvania, recently competed in the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association competition (SGIA). Levering, received an award of excellence in the category of Fine art: Digital with his entry entitled, "The Crescent Wolf." The awards recognize the importance and education of students in the specialty-imaging field.

The awards recognize the importance and education of students in the specialty-imaging field. This year's SGIA competition included 24 categories, and was held from October 18-20 in Las Vegas, Nev. This was an opportunity for students to have samples of their finest work evaluated by Academy of Screen Printing Technology experts. Winning submissions will be displayed to industry leaders from around the world at the 2013 SGIA Expo, which will be held in Orlando, Fla., from October 23-25, 2013. The competition was named after Tom Frecska, the late editor of ScreenPrinting Magazine, who passed away in 2009.
