Millersville Alumnus, Warwick Principal to Discuss Building Resiliency on March 26

Millersville, PA (03/06/2026) — Dr. Kristy Szobocsan, principal at Warwick High School and a graduate of the Millersville/Shippensburg Joint Doctoral Program, will deliver the 36th Annual Lockey Lecture at Millersville University. Her talk, "The Impact of One: Fostering Relationships and Building Resiliency in Kids and Communities," will begin at 7 p.m., March 26, in Biemesderfer Concert Hall, Winter Center. The event is open to the public free of charge. Registration is required.

Szobocsan has served the students, staff and community of the Warwick School District since 2013. Before Warwick, she taught and was an administrator in the School District of Lancaster for seven years. She is passionate about ensuring everyone understands the impacts of childhood trauma and works tirelessly to develop necessary supports for those impacted by trauma, the focus of her dissertation and an area she on which she provides training. She teaches a course at a local university as part of their trauma certificate program. She and her husband have four children and have had the privilege of being foster parents for several years.

Anna Funk Lockey '25 established an endowed lectureship in education at Millersville University in 1987. The purpose of the Lockey Lecture is to bring distinguished speakers to Millersville's campus to address future teachers, the educational profession and the community.
